Father’s Day 2016 Gift Guide

Father’s Day is approaching thick and fast so I thought that I’d put together a comprehensive guide of gifts that you can get the ‘old’ man.

Father’s Day Gift Ideas

On Sunday 19th June, most of us will be showing our appreciation of our dads. Below you will find 10 gift ideas for your dad ranging from low to high prices. Dads love many different kinds of gifts, so don’t ever think that one present sounds ‘weird’, dads will most likely find it amazing or out of this world. I’ve chosen this list of Father’s day gifts all myself, I have in no way, shape or form been asked to promote anything 🙂

Let’s get started and have a little look shall we?

Father's Day

David Gandy For Autograph (£22.50 – £27.50)

David Gandy has teamed up with Marks & Spencer to create some really lovely underwear, shorts and loungewear for men which would make a cracking Father’s Day present. Why not go for this combo of PJ bottoms and slim-fit PJ top and get the old man dressing rather suavely whilst he sleeps. Shop them here now.

Krups Beertender (£150)

I was at a family members house party a few weeks back and they just so happened to have one of these little beauties. They really are great and pull a ‘proper’ pint. With the sudden change in temperature in the last week, I reckon all dads (that drink) would love nothing more than a lovely cold pint on a hot summers day. Also, the Euro’s and Olympics are fast approaching so it would be great for all to use when you hold a little get-together or what not. I’m not so sure, however, if Mother would be pleased having this added to the side but if you have space then I’d more than recommend it. Shop it here on Amazon now.

Father's Day

Canon Powershot G7X Mark II (£549)

If money is no object to you and you fancy a bigger splurge this Father’s Day then I recommend you consider this newly released, top of the range point and shoot digital camera by Canon. Having just been released at the start of May, this replaces the very popular previous G7X model which a number of top YouTubers and Vloggers were huge advocates of. This one has been reviewed and said to be a good improvement on the already classy ‘original’ shooter. All dads seem to love their techno gadgets and I’m sure if you have the cash then yours would love this new camera. Check out all of the specs and watch some product demos here now.

WeMo Light Switches (£30)

Now, this may seem like a very strange and random thing to add to this list of Father’s day gifts, but trust me… it isn’t! My dad actually already has these little gadgets and swears by them. But that doesn’t stop you from trying them out with your poppa. All dads love technology and newfangled ideas and these little lights do just the job. They’re light switches which are operated by using the companies app which enables you to switch lights on or off and set the lights to come on at certain times (Say when you’re on holiday and you want people to think that there is somebody in the house at nighttime). Shop them here at B&Q now.

Father's Day

Haig Club Whiskey (£39.95)

I’ve not tried Haig Club myself but anything that the British Gentleman and sporting god – David Beckham – endorses is always going to be high in my estimations book. It seems as though all Father’s enjoy a ‘cheeky nightcap’ so why not treat them to a lovely bottle of this Scotch whisky? You never know if you’re a fellow fan of whisky he might just give you a drop to share! Get your hands on a bottle now here. (Edit. I have now tried this and approve thus far).

Braun Beard Trimmer (£34.99)

As fashion trends come and go, it seems now more than ever that beards are the ‘in’ thing. My dad still sports a tash but any kind of facial hair needs a beard trimmer to upkeep it. They’re a lot more precise than your usual, run of the mill, face shavers. If your dad has a bit of facial hair going on, then treat him to this Braun Beard Trimmer this Father’s Day. I myself have this model and it really gives me a lovely shave and helps to keep my beard/ stubble in tact. check it here now.

Taylor Of Old Bond Street Gift Box (£75)

Taylor of Old Bond Street has a number of gift boxes which would be a fantastic gift for your dad this Father’s Day. I’ve included this one as it’s the only set to include all the necessary pieces of equipment to conduct a full wet shave (Razor, Shaving Brush and Shaving Soap). The good thing about Taylor’s is that they’re a traditional, old-fashion, British shaving company having started operations in 1854. They make really original and classic looking products which would suit the old man right down to the ground. Check them out on their website here.

Father's Day

Kiehl’s Ultimate Man Gift Set (£60.50)

As time goes on, more and more men are beginning to look after their skin and I for one am a huge advocate of this. Men shouldn’t worry about old-fashioned, invisible rules which make it strange to look after themselves and use products on their body. This Kiehl’s Skincare Gift Set is the perfect starting point for any dad this Father’s Day. It has every product needed to make their skin look and feel uber-fresh. We have a face wash, moisturiser, hand cream and other little tester packs. I’m a huge lover of Kiehl’s and use them myself every day so maybe a bit biassed but I genuinely believe that your pops will love this kit. Shop it here on the website now.

Ralph Lauren Blue Aftershave (£55)

Treat your old poppa to a bottle of this wonderful Ralph Lauren Blue Cologne. It’s a beautiful smelling aftershave and will really spice up his outfit and overall exterior when going out for a drink or to a meal. This one is already on my dad’s aftershave side but what’s stopping you from treating yours to a bottle? Get yourself over to Selfridges now and order him one, he’ll love it you mark my words!

Father's Day

Willies Cacao Chocolate (£1.80 – £2.99)

As said in the WeMo Light section, Father’s love all kinda of weird and wonderful products. This is another one. It comes from a documentary shot on Channel 4 around 8 years ago which featured an odd but genius chocolatier known as Willie. The documentary followed his journey on how he sources and makes his chocolate, which ended with him receiving orders from some of Britain’s most up-market and sought after shops: Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Waitrose to name a few. These chocolate bars are one of the highest percentages of ‘real’ chocolate bars on the market and that’s what makes them so special. If your dad is a bit of a chocoholic, then you should definitely consider these little wonders for Father’s Day. My dad absolutely loves the stuff! Find a number of different flavours here now.

There we have it! 10 ideas for you this Father’s Day. No go forth and spoil your big poppa because he deserves all the love you can give him 🙂
